Who doesn’t love spending some time in the backyard at the grill? Nothing really makes you feel more like summer than having some grilled food for supper. Depending on your preference, you might use a gas grill, a charcoal grill or even an electric grill. Here are some tips to keep in mind to make sure that your grilling is not just delicious, but also safe.
Charcoal grills give off a lot of exhaust, and this could lead to carbon monoxide poisoning. CO is released when fuel is burned incompletely, and prolonged exposure could lead to dizziness, nausea and even death. Make sure you are using your grill in a well ventilated area so that there is no buildup of gas.
When using a propane grill, you need to make sure that there are no leaks that would release propane gas and pose a hazard for fire and explosion. If you haven’t used the grill for a long time you should check that all connections are sound and that there are no cracks in the hoses used for funneling the gas to the burners.
